RENNES-LE-CHATEAU
As always, I will be found in the Jardin de Marie at Rennes-le-Château on most afternoons throughout the season. (Though not generally on Tuesday, when le Jardin is closed.)
Come and badger me as much as you like!
I say this because I’ve learned that some people have been hesitant to approach me. Don’t be! I enjoy meeting you all and answering your questions. That’s why I’m here ! And how I make so many new friends.
(And if you can’t find me in the garden, ask Gerda or Tobie ... they’ll know where I am ... probably in the Church or thereabouts).
AFTERNOON TOURS OF THE VILLAGE After many requests during the past summer, I have been leading small groups around Rennes-le-Château. These have proved very popular and so I have decided to continue them during the 2012 Season. By 'small' I mean of about half-a-dozen or so people. Larger groups become cumbersome and there is always someone who doesn't 'get a word in'. (Ten can become almost too many - whereas two can be fun !) The tour is very much my own personal view of the story and of the events and characters I have known over almost half a century. The visits begin in the Jardin at 2.15pm and last about three hours. I am happy to do them in either English or French. If you want another language, you'd better bring your own translator ! The cost is €20 per person - which includes admittance to Saunière's Domaine.
GROUP TOURS If any visiting groups would like me to guide them around the village I will be happy to show you "the things you are looking at - but not seeing"! If Group Leaders will please contact me in advance on this web-site, I will do my best to fit in with your arrangements. (You may, for instance, have scheduled your visit for the morning.) |

Concert
It has also become usual for there to be an enchanting concert in the Garden on Sundays at 4 p.m., given by Ani Williams, the well-known harpist and sound healer.
Ani also brings Tours to our area and I always spend some time with her groups.

I took the Henry Lincoln tour in October 2010 and have to say it exceeded all expectation. I'd visited the region quite often in the past and had been lucky enough to meet Henry previously, but this experience was quite unique and something else. The accommodation,
the food, the hosting by Julie, Rupert and Henry was brilliant, and it
is a week that I will never forget. I met some really interesting
people, and visiting all the sites with Henry bringing them to life was
magical. The anecdotes and stories in the evenings were just as
enjoyable as the visits, and everything was organised superbly. If
you have been before, or if you have never been before, I cannot
recommend this tour enough, and guarantee you will love every minute.
The magic of Rennes-le-Château and the surrounding Cathare country is as
strong as ever. Ed Critchley, Liverpool, UK
